Banja La Mtsogolo (BLM), a reproductive health and family planning non-governmental organisation, on Wednesday, 30th January 2008, awarded its star performers for 2007 and described the past year as the best ever during its performance review meeting held in Blantyre where all employees in the country gathered.
BLM Management described 2007 as the best year in terms of performance after registering budgetary performance in its clinics.
"When we talk about budgetary performance, we are talking about how many clients we have served in the year and how the business went on. We have registered a good record of clients than the past years. 2007 was the best year ever," Blm Management said in an interview.
They encouraged all employees to work even harder to get awards for this year. They said the criteria to choose the best employees was done by the committee that was set to Into various areas before coming up with prizes and names of the employees and the centres that had extremely well in 2007.
BLM had its challenges in 2007 and that was to see that there were drugs in its services providing centres all time.
During the awards presentations, Mponela was named the best centre and went away with a floating trophy, certificate and K50.000 while as Falls Clinic in Lilongwe was the best service provider for 2007 and also went away with K50.000 and certificates.
The employee of the year for centre managers went to Tiwonge Mhango from the Northern Region who took home K40.000 plus certificate.
Other employees that did well In the year Included a Mrs. Makina from Chiradzulu, Moses from Eastern Region of the service provider, Ollen Kumwenda from the North, Mtamula and Modesta Manila, among others.
