Nicky brings over 10 years of experience in senior management and director roles in Africa and Asia.
She was most recently Country Director for VSO in Papua New Guinea and prior to that, she worked extensively across Southern Africa in Zambia, Mozambique, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Namibia and Malawi.
These leadership roles were complemented by 10 years of clinical experience as a Psychologist and Psychotherapist predominately working in the HIV and AIDS sector.

It is an amazing organization that is having a fantastic impact supporting people in Malawi to make appropriate family planning choices and access health services at an affordable cost,” says Nicky Matthews from her base in Blantyre, southern Malawi.
Nicky adds that BLM remains committed to the people of Malawi in providing a broad range of health and family planning services through its clinics, Blue Star social franchise partnerships and over 400 outreach points across Malawi.
BLM is a Malawian Healthcare Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) established in 1987. It is a senior member of the Marie Stopes International Global Partnership which develops effective and sustainable family planning programs in 37 countries across the world.
