Banja La Mtsogolo is a Malawian Reproductive Healthcare Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). Established in 1987, BLM is registered under the Trustees Act of Malawi and has a fully incorporated Board of Trustees. BLM receives its major financial support from the British Government through the Department of International Development (DFID), United Nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), Family Federation of Finland (FFF), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) and Norwegian Agency for Development (NORAD).
Marie stopes International (MSI), a leading British charitable organization on Sexual and reproductive Health, Provides management assistance while Interact Worldwide provides technical support. As BLM complements Government efforts in the Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare field, it works closely with the Ministry of Health and population especially the Reproductive Health Unit and Department for Population Services, family Planning Association of Malawi (FPAM), United nations Fund for Population Activities (UNFPA), Council for Non-Governmental Organizations (CONGOMA) and other stakeholders in the reproductive health field. BLM works with both political and traditional leaders in the community level irrespective of their political affiliations.
